The "Cor Savina" acts on the representations of "La Boheme" 

 

The "Cor Savina" of the professional school of Cervera will participate in the coming weeks the opera "La Boheme" at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. The opera will premiere on Monday, and they act in the eighteen performances.”La boheme” is one of the most popular operas of Puccini and all Italian classical music. “La Boheme” have an incredible harmony and a lot of beautiful melodies. The opera is about the disappointment way of life, dreams and the love of the young artists of the nineteenth century in Paris, with a tragic ending.

This choral group is composed for children between 8 and 13 years old. All the children, are doing their studies of music at the Professional school of Cervera directed by Nuria Mas. They started performing in the Liceu in “Don Carlos” in the 2006-07 season.

Cyclists demand respect the safety distance to prevent accidents

 The claim arrived one day later after a car ran over four cyclists on the C-13, in Vallfogona de Balaguer (Noguera) and caused the death of two of them.

 The 12^th of February on the 26 km of the C-13, a driver of 19 years old, with less than one year of driving experience, ran over four cyclists and caused the death in the act of two of them and seriously injuries to the others.

 The city of Balaguer, where the two deaths cyclists were natural, Pere Pedrosa and Joan Alcázar, 35 and 40, respectively, is still shocked by the tragic event.

 Consequently, the Catalan Coordinator of Bicycle Users (CCUB) wants to finish with the blood on the roads. They demand respect the lateral distance when cars overtake cyclists and also a new institutional campaign to “reeducate” the drivers about how to coexist with the cyclist on the road.

 This tragic event caused one thousand riders take part in a demonstration on 19^th of February with the motto:

  XIII “Marxa del Castells”

The “Marxa dels Castells” of Segarra began in 2000 following a group of friends in the area of the Segarra that they had the restlessness to perform a new nature hiking unusual activity in our area. This new initiative was to meet some specific features to make it attractive. He believed that the great castles of the region could represent an attractive initiative, while the landscape that offers the county at the beginning of spring with its bright green trees and flowers, could end up with a great feeling.
 

The route is a distance of 54 kilometers and a height of just over 1200 meters accumulated . The plateau of the Segarra offers a land of constant ups and downs, but always  it doesn't have a intense slope.

This year on 11th of March there will be the "XIII Marxa dels Castells" and the route will be this:

Basketball in Cervera

Cervera has a wide range of basketball teams for children from 4 years up to youths 19 making a total of 15 teams between the male and female. Our city has two sport halls where they train and play matches teams. The matches are played regularly every weekend but one week at home and another one away.
 

The last match played in Cervera was on 25/02/2012 at 20:30 at "PAVELLÓ MUNICIPAL CERVERA" in "GUISSONA AVENUE S / N". The visiting team was C.B. BALAGUER (S-21) and the local C.B. CERVERA MOBEL LINE with the senior male, the referee was Mr. Jonathan Puig Nuevo. The match lasted 40 minutes and the result was favorable to Cervera (85-48).
 

In conclusion, Cervera has a very young team trying to enjoy the sport and not just basketball. And one will never know if in the future we will see some athletes trained in these institutions on the television.

Cervera was dressed up for Carnival

The 18^th of February in the afternoon, the citizens from Cervera, celebrated an annual celebration: the carnival in their streets.

The celebration started at six o’clock approximately , and was compound with a route in the streets, and finally in the evening there was a party in the sports hall, to share out the prizes of the groups that participated on the route during the afternoon. Referring to the route, there was eight groups that participated. The weather was very cold. However, lots of people were on the streets were seeing the groups that were dancing and having fan in the party. In the evening, all the people were dancing on the sports hall.

Finally, the mayor and the king of carnival went to the stage of the sports hall and addressed to the assistants and said thank you to all of people that made the carnival an annual celebration.
